Scroll through any property portal and you will see the same thing: hundreds of daylight exteriors, grey skies, parked cars. Then one image glows: a house at dusk, warm light in every window, a deep blue sky. That photo gets the click. Twilight photography is one of the highest-impact add-ons in real estate marketing, and this article explains how it works.
Why twilight works
- Contrast. In a grid of bright thumbnails, a dark blue image with warm windows stands out immediately.
- Emotion. Lit windows signal warmth, safety and home. Buyers respond to that before they read the price.
- Hides flaws. A tired facade, an unfinished garden or neighbouring buildings fade into the dusk.
- Exclusivity. Because it takes a second visit, few listings have it. Your property looks premium by comparison.
How a twilight shoot works
- We arrive about 30 minutes before sunset and switch on every light inside and outside, including garden and pool lighting.
- The best window is 15 to 25 minutes after sunset, when the sky is still blue but darker than the interior lights.
- We take a series of exposures from one or two angles and blend them so the windows, the sky and the facade are all correctly exposed.
- Delivery within 48 hours together with the daylight gallery.
Which properties benefit most
Houses and villas with a visible facade, apartments with a terrace or a balcony that can be lit, new developments with a show flat, and hotels or restaurants with exterior lighting. For a fifth-floor flat with no exterior presence, spend the money on a 3D tour instead.
Cost in Prague
A twilight exterior costs 1 500 CZK as an add-on to a real estate shoot, because it requires a second visit at dusk. Combined with a drone twilight photo, the price starts at 3 000 CZK. Winter is ideal: sunset at 16:30 means the shoot fits into a normal working day.
Frequently asked questions
Can you fake a twilight photo from a daylight image?
Digital day-to-dusk conversion exists and costs less, but the windows and reflections rarely look real. We only offer it for listings where a real dusk visit is impossible.
What if the weather is cloudy?
Overcast dusk still gives a deep blue tone; light rain shows as reflections on the pavement and can look good. Heavy rain or fog means we reschedule for free.
Do you also do twilight interiors?
Yes. A living room photographed at dusk with the city lights outside is a strong image for premium apartments in Prague.
