Rules and permissions

Flights follow EU regulation 2019/947 and the rules of the Czech Civil Aviation Authority. We check every location on the official airspace map before confirming and tell you honestly whether a flight is possible. Read our overview of drone rules in Prague.

Flying a drone in Prague: where it works and where it does not

Prague is one of the most restricted cities in Europe for drones. A large part of the city lies in the control zone of Václav Havel Airport and the historic centre is a protected area. That is exactly why you need an operator who knows the map.

Usually possible

Residential districts away from the airport approach, the outskirts (Zbraslav, Uhříněves, Horní Počernice, Zličín), Central Bohemia, riverside sites outside the centre, and most villa and development locations after a check.

Usually not possible

Praha 1, the Castle district, Malá Strana, Vyšehrad and areas directly under the airport approach. For these we offer elevated pole shots, rooftop photos or a 3D tour instead.

What we do before every flight

Airspace check on the official map, weather and wind check, operator ID and insurance in order, and where required an authorisation request, which can take two to four weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Can you fly in Prague 1?

Usually not. The historic centre is inside protected airspace. We offer elevated pole shots or rooftop photos as an alternative.

How much notice do you need?

One week for unrestricted locations; two to four weeks if an authorisation is required.

Is the footage delivered ready to post?

Yes. You receive a finished, colour-graded clip in horizontal and vertical formats plus the aerial photos.
