Fotos im Google-Unternehmensprofil für Restaurants und Hotels: Was hochladen und wie oft

When a tourist in Prague searches for “restaurant near me” or “hotel Prague 1”, Google shows a profile with photos before anything else. Businesses with more high-quality photos get more direction requests and website clicks; Google itself has published data on this for years. Yet most Prague restaurants leave the profile to guest photos of half-eaten plates. This guide shows what to upload.

The photo categories Google uses

  • Cover photo: your best exterior or interior, landscape, no text. It is what appears in Maps.
  • Logo: square, clean, on a plain background.
  • Interior: three to five photos showing the dining room, the bar, the terrace.
  • Exterior: entrance and facade in daylight and at dusk, so guests recognise you from the street.
  • Food and drink: signature dishes, the breakfast buffet, cocktails.
  • Rooms (hotels): one photo per category plus the bathroom.
  • Team: chef and staff at work, with consent.
  • At work / common areas: the open kitchen, the lobby, the spa.

How many and how often

Start with 15 to 30 professional photos across the categories, then add two or three fresh images every month: a seasonal dish, a new cocktail, the terrace in summer, the Christmas decoration. Recent uploads keep the profile active, which correlates with better local ranking. Reply to reviews and add the same photos to posts.

Technical notes

  • JPEG, at least 720 px on the shorter side; we deliver 2048 px versions.
  • No filters, no text overlays, no collages.
  • Upload from the owner account so the photos are marked as “by owner” and shown first.
  • Order matters less than quality; Google picks what it shows, so every image must be strong.

The link with your other channels

The same set of images works for your website, Instagram, delivery platforms and printed menus. Our restaurant photography packages and hotel photography include crops for every channel, and a Matterport 3D tour can be linked from the profile so guests explore the interior before they visit.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Can I remove bad guest photos from my Google profile?

You can flag photos that violate Google’s policies, but ordinary unflattering photos usually stay. The best defence is a large set of professional photos that pushes them down.

Should hotel room photos on Google match Booking.com?

Yes. Consistency across platforms builds trust and avoids complaints. We deliver the same gallery in every required size.

Does Google prefer photos with people?

Photos with staff or guests can perform well when they look natural and consent is given. Avoid posed group photos.
