The same apartment can look dull at noon and glowing at four in the afternoon. Timing is the cheapest way to improve real estate photos, and in Prague the difference between seasons is dramatic: sunset at 16:00 in December and at 21:15 in June. Here is how we plan the timing of a shoot, and what you can do as an owner or agent.

Season by season
- Spring (March – May): the best season. Trees green, long days, mild light. Book early; it is also the busiest.
- Summer (June – August): strong light and green surroundings, but midday contrast is harsh. We shoot interiors early or late and twilight after 21:00.
- Autumn (September – November): golden light, colourful trees, ideal for houses and villas. From November grey skies dominate; interiors are unaffected.
- Winter (December – February): short days but easy twilight shoots at 16:30. Snow can look spectacular for chalets and villas. Exteriors with bare trees and grey skies benefit from a spring re-shoot.
Weather
Bright overcast is ideal for interiors: soft light, no hot spots on floors. Clear skies are better for exteriors, terraces and drone shots. Rain is not a problem indoors; we reschedule exteriors at no cost. Wind above roughly 40 km/h grounds the drone.
How we schedule
After your enquiry we check the orientation of the property on the map, the sunset time and the forecast, then propose a slot. For houses we often split the shoot: interiors and drone in the afternoon, twilight exterior 20 minutes after sunset. Can you shoot on weekends?
Saturdays yes, Sundays by arrangement. Weekend twilight slots book out quickly in spring and autumn.
What if the flat only gets light in the evening?
We schedule the shoot for that hour and bring lighting for the rest. Artificial light blended with the window light looks natural when done well.
Is it worth waiting for better weather?
For interiors, no. For a villa exterior or a drone video, a few days’ delay for a clear sky is usually worth it.
